The #1 reason why people get disappointed with their brand photos is...

Well hello again! I felt compelled to write this message to all of you who want branding photos. Whether it's with me or another photographer, I think this will help you when you have your next brand shoot. So keep on reading to find out the #1 reason why people get disappointed with their brand photos is…

In order to get the most out of your brand shoot you really need to plan it in advance. And that is because there are so many components that need to be nailed down before the day of your shoot. Also the photographer needs to understand what your brand is all about, so that they can create the vibe for your brand photos. If you need some ideas for your brand shoot be sure to download my Branding Photography Checklist.

It’s so important for you as a business owner to really understand what your brand is about. That goes from your mission statement, values and the tone of your voice. The more you know about your brand it will help you to guide the photographer to create the imagery for your website and social media. If you don’t know what your brand is about then shoot me a message to find out my brand clarity sessions.

One of the most important things to consider is the location of your photoshoot. I can not stress this more! The location of your brand shoot should be a #1 priority! Since your brand shoot is an investment in your business, your brand shoot should be thoroughly thought out and planned ahead of time. If you want that beautiful lifestyle image you need to find a space with BIG windows that has natural light to give it that lifestyle feeling.

The location will determine the final outcome of your photos because it will give the look and the feel of your brand vibe. So if your brand is expensive, then you need to find a location that can evoke the same feeling. There are numerous ways to find the right location for your brand shoot, which I share with my clients who book branding sessions with me. And if they need help with scouting locations I send them my location PDF with different options. Finding the right location takes time because you have to do the research and book the location ahead of time.

Here are other ideas for locations:

  • Your Home
  • Hotels
  • Cafes
  • Co-working space
  • Rent an Airbnb apartment
  • Go outdoors

Other factors to consider is how do you want your images to look? Do you like clean and bright imagery, or do you like soft and moody tones? Having a clear idea of the image style will determine which photographer to use, because photographers have certain styles that they are capable creating, and not all photographers have the same style. So choose one that best fits your image style.

Your clothing style will also evoke the vibe or your brand. Think about how you want to be seen? I always suggest upgrading to 3 new outfits. This ensures that your brand is up to date and your clothes is not out of style. You want your images to last for a while so upgrading your wardrobe will elevate your brand and keep you looking fresh. If you struggle with styling then you can always hire a stylist. But make sure that your styling stays true to who you are so that your brand reflects your personality.

Remember spring is around the corner which makes for a beautiful outdoor backdrop. I only take on a few sessions per month until mid June so if you’ve been wanting to book your brand shoot, then It’s time to start planning.

I hope you found these tips useful and if you’re in Sweden and in need of elevating your brand photos then send me a message and let’s see how we can elevate your brand together.
